There are single massive mountains with a well defined morphology, but also more “ragged” mountains, with several tips, small peaks, shoulders and small reliefs which are above 4000m, and often bear an altitude mark but no name on the maps. To this large variety of summits, no well defined criteria of choice have been applied to date, so as to draw a line between the “true” summits (first list below) and other asperities (see second, enlarged list below).
